My "challenging the Guinness" adventure has now taken a new course. I have just found out that the real title of the Guinness world record for the Melis family is "the highest combined age for nine living siblings". Some secondary sources just ignored the number nine and changed the title into "the longest-living family in the world" or "oldest living siblings in the world". As far as I am concerned, this rehabilitates the credibility of the Guiness World Records. I have thus lost the solid basis for believing that my favourite family is the oldest one in the world. For the time being, I'll just uphold my assertion that there is no family on the earth older than the Letendre Family. Any challenge is welcome! Anyway, the real challenge is challenging oneself, not competing with others.
