The weather forecast for the Saturday of our 25th Family Golf Tourmament was not promising at all throughout the week, but the time-proven optimism of "we have always had a nice weather" overruled the uncertainly, and lo, we could not have a better weather for golf or, for that matter, anything whatsoever. And we won: the spirit was high, the team play was optimal, and the luck was on our side. A little cloud was that all eight vegas teams hoped that a particular team (consisting of the family best plus the three never-got-chance golfers) would win. When we scored four under par after the 15th hole, we were almost sure that we would win, still we did our best. Fair play is fair play. Even when it turned out that this most cheered for team finished the round scoring the same points and that the competition had to go on with one-to-one putting, we did our best while hoping to lose. C'est la vie. |
