The virtual world is becoming increasingly real in this era of virtual reality with its seemingly unlimited possibility of virtually realizing every imaginable fantasy. We can circumvent actual materialization and physical presence to do things which were only possible in actual involvement and physical interaction only half a generation ago. Following this trend, what could be in store for us a generation later? What about catching telepathic waves or messages from higher dimensions? Will there be a gadget which can do what intuitively gifted people have always been able to do throughout the human history? I tend to answer with yes because it is a reality for those spiritually advanced 'race' of humans.
Serge and I have a common repertoire of realities of this genre, and one of them is a soul called Colette. Colette died 50 years ago today before being born. She was to be the 20th child of Roland and Rosette Letendre, but did not survive the first ordeal of life (the doctor was too busy to take care of her mother) and left her body before breathing the first breath on the earth. She became our reality three years ago today when we came to Drummondville, Serge's hometown, to spend a month. On arriving at the apartment that we had rented on the Internet before leaving Berlin, Serge called his mother to tell her where we were, and the first thing we heard from her was that this very day was Colette's birthday (= date of death) and that she had been lying buried at the graveyard just opposite the apartment building. She waved to us!
Ever since, Colette has been our reality, as real as we breathe. There are countless small and large events and inspirations which remind us of her presence, and we can't be more comfortable with this charming companion. One day, for example, Serge had a sudden urge to sow the grapefruit seed he just had at the tip of his index finger and buried it in a flower pot. After some time, we were surprised to see three stalks growing out of this seed: two identical ones side by side, and a smaller one slightly sideways. The twins are growing well while the smaller one keeps its miniature form. What is then more natural than to call this mini plant Colette?
